We have mlmmj list but while we are trying to subscribe the list we noticed that a user can subscribe the list multiple times
Test script:

You can try to subscribe with same email address multiple times to mlmmj+subscribe@mlmmj.org address and it will send back the confirmation email again and again.
Expected result:

After first subscription process, it needs to return a message that implies the user already subscribed the list.
Actual result:

After first subscription process, The list sends the confirmation email every time you send an email to subscription address.
